In subway shield construction,glass fiber reinforcement is used to replace the traditional steel reinforcement in the existing enclosure piles.The result of the"Application Research of Glass Fiber Reinforcement in Shield End Well Maintenance Piles"jointly completed by Chengdu Rail Transit Group Co.,Ltd.,Southwest Jiaotong University and the Second Railway Institute has passed the appraisal of the Provincial Science and Technology Department and other experts.It is reported that it is the first time that glass fiber reinforced piles are used in all shield sections of the entire line in the nation's established subway lines.
